1. “The A.D. Sakharov Armenian Human Rights Protection Center” NGO announces a tender for the provision of sub-grants in order to support the processes of civil society establishment.
2. Only those non-governmental organizations that operate in the RA Shirak, Gegharkunik and Syunik regions can participate in the competition. Young researchers of the RA Shirak, Gegharkunik and Syunik regions can apply for this project by submitting the application through those public organizations.
3. In order to participate in the sub-grant competition, it is necessary to submit a project-proposal, where it is necessary to briefly describe which problem of the given region (community, settlement) the presented project is aimed at solving.
4. The project-proposal should clearly formulate the goal and the tasks (steps) through which it is planned to achieve the goal, results and impact. It is necessary to describe who are the target groups (beneficiaries) of the project, what kind of positive change will the project bring to them and/or what will be their participation in the implementation of the project.
5. The project-proposal must include a clear action plan.
6. The size of each grant is up to 450,000 AMD based on the scope and schedule of the project being presented.
7. Start and end of project implementation: 01/02/2024 - 30/04/2024.
8. The project-proposal guidelines and priority topics in Annex 1.
9. The main documents required are:

1. Completed title page,

2. Project-proposal,

3. Project budget,

4. A copy of the state registry certificate of the NGO,

5. Curriculum vitae (CV) of the involved expert,

6․ The leaflet of the NGO.

This competition is held in one phase. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until December 15, 2023 inclusive.

Winners will be notified by email by 30.12.2023 and will be asked to submit a full version of their Project, a detailed budget and schedule.

The project-proposal and the required documents must be submitted by hand to the relevant offices of the Organization.

Based on the difficult socio-economic situation in the Republic of Armenia due to the coronavirus epidemic, on May 2020 the A.D. Sakharov Armenian Human Rights Protection Center applied to its donor organization (Brot für die Welt, Germany) and began negotiations to implement a social program to provide humanitarian assistance to the most needy families in three regions of Armenia (Shirak, Gegharkunik, Syunik). This social program was to be implemented within the framework of the Sakharov Center's current program "Strengthening Civil Society in the Regions of the Republic of Armenia."

After reaching an agreement, the Sakharov Center started implementing the above-mentioned program on June 1. The heads of the branches of the Center, together with the regional structures of the social service and the local self-government bodies, verified the data of the most socially vulnerable people of those regions and compiled the lists of the needy.

With the money provided for the program, food and hygiene items were purchased. It was decided to provide a package worth 20.000 drams to each needy family. Below are the names and quantity of the products included in the social assistance packages:

Within the framework of this social program, 300 packages will be distributed to needy families in Shirak and Syunik regions (total 600 packages).

As of today, the following have been distributed:
1․ 108 packages – Shirak region
2․ 100 packages – Syunik region

Taking into account the unfavorable climatic conditions of Gegharkunik region and the fact of long-term use of heating, it was decided to pay the gas fee for 300 needy families of Gavar town (20 thousand drams for each needy family).

The work of the social program is carried out by the employees of the Sakharov Center with the support of local government representatives, social service staff and volunteers.

The works continue.
